[Overview]
A perennial 20–50 cm tall, found in somewhat dry places in the mountains.
The stems and leaves are densely hairy.
The stem is erect and branches sparsely in the upper part.
There are basal leaves and leaves alternate on the stem; the basal leaves form a rosette, are spoon-shaped, 9–15 cm long and 2.5–3.5 cm wide, and remain at flowering time.
The leaf margins have sparse minute projections but are not toothed.
The stem leaves are simple, linear-lanceolate, and few in number.
The flower heads consist only of yellowish white to white tubular flowers and hang downward at the tips of the stem and branches.
The involucre is hemispherical, and the involucral bracts are in 5 rows.
The outer involucral bracts are shorter than the inner ones and curve backward.
There are bracts at the base of the flower head.
The fruit is an achene with a short beak at the tip.
