Scientific name: Liparis kumokiri

Liparis kumokiri

[Overview]
A perennial 10–20 cm tall, found in forests from the subarctic to the warm-temperate zone.
It has ovate pseudobulbs and bears 2 simple leaves alternately.
The leaves are ovate to oblong, 5–12 cm long and 2.5–5 cm wide, with an abruptly pointed tip.
A raceme bears 5–15 pale green flowers.
The lateral sepals are narrowly oblong, and the lateral petals are linear.
The lip is obovate and recurved, with a shallow groove in the center.

[Cultivation]
Propagate from seed.
It prefers partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil.
During the growing season, water thoroughly when the soil surface dries, pouring gently at the base so the leaves do not get wet.
Do not let it dry out completely even during dormancy.
In spring and autumn, give diluted liquid fertilizer once a week.
