[Overview]
A perennial 20–40 cm tall, found along riverbanks and in wet marshy places.

The stem is hairless and is either not tinged with purple or, if tinged, only at the base.
The leaves include basal leaves and leaves alternate on the stem, and are pinnately compound.
There are 1–5 pairs of lateral leaflets; each leaflet is ovate to oblong, and the terminal leaflet is clearly larger than the lateral leaflets.
The flowers are borne in racemes and are white with 4 petals.
The petals are obovate, 3.5–5 mm long.
There are 6 stamens.
The fruit is a silique 1.5–2.5 cm long, standing erect or ascending obliquely.
Inside the fruit, many seeds about 1 mm long are arranged in a single row.
