[Overview]
An annual or biennial about 1 m tall, found on roadsides and similar places.
It is a hybrid of Hoki-giku and Hiroha-hoki-giku.
The stem is erect, and in many plants the angle at which the branches spread is intermediate between that of Hoki-giku and Hiroha-hoki-giku.
There are basal leaves and stem leaves; the basal leaves often remain even at flowering time.
The stem leaves are simple and alternate, narrowly oblong-elliptic.
Many flower heads are borne at the stem tip.
The flower heads consist of ray florets and tubular florets.
The ray florets are pale purple.
The fruit is an achene with a pappus.
The seeds are sterile.
