[Overview]
A perennial 5–15 cm tall, found in moist grasslands in high mountains.
It has a short rhizome.
There are basal leaves and stem leaves; the basal leaves are round and heart-shaped, 0.7–1.5 cm in both length and width, with leaf stalks.
Usually only one stem leaf is borne on the flower stem; it has no leaf stalk, and its base slightly clasps the stem.
The leaf margins are entire.
A single white 5-petaled flower, 0.8–1 cm across, is borne at the tip of the flower stem, which is 5–15 cm tall.
The petals are rounded and open flat.
The staminodes are divided into 3–5 needle-like lobes and have no spherical glands at the tips.
The anthers are grayish brown.
The fruit is a capsule about 0.5 cm long.
