Fumaria capreolata

[Overview]
An annual or biennial found on vacant lots and roadsides.
The plant is soft and does not have a powdery white tinge.
The stem grows up to 1 m long, branches, stands up, becomes half-climbing, and coils around other things with its leaf axes.
The leaves are alternate, 3-times pinnately compound, with further divided segments, and yellowish green.
Racemes arise from the leaf axils and bear 10–30 flowers.
The flowers are about 1 cm long and white, with the petal tips dark reddish purple.
After pollination, the whole flower gradually takes on a reddish purple tinge.
There are 4 petals, forming a tube with the tip slightly open.
The rear end of the upper petal has a sac-like spur.
There are 2 sepals, ovate, membranous, about half as long as the petals, and toothed.
The fruit is a slightly flattened sphere, and when ripe the fruit stalk points downward.
