Japanese name: ヒメノキシノブ (姫軒忍)
Scientific name: Lepisorus onoei

Lepisorus onoei

[Overview]
An evergreen fern that grows epiphytically on trees and rocks in forests.
A slender rhizome about 1–1.5 mm in diameter, fairly densely covered with dark brown scales, creeps horizontally.
The leaves emerge rather sparsely from the rhizome; they are usually linear, 3–10 cm long and 0.2–0.5 cm wide, with entire margins, broadening toward the tip, which is rounded to acute, and are somewhat fleshy and leathery.
The midrib (main vein) is distinct, and the leaf veins are indistinct.
There is a short leaf stalk.
The sori are yellowish brown and round, with several on the upper half of the leaf, arranged in one row on each side midway between the midrib (main vein) and the leaf margin.
