[Overview]
A perennial grown as an ornamental succulent.
The stems and leaves are fleshy.
The leaves are arranged alternately in a rosette.
The shape and color of the leaves vary with the type.
The flowers are small and star-shaped.
[Cultivation]
Propagate by division or leaf cuttings.
It prefers sandy soil with good sun and drainage.
It is cold-hardy and tolerates some frost, but in winter it is better brought indoors to a sunny spot.
During the rainy season, keep it out of the rain in a well-ventilated place such as under the eaves or on a veranda.
Direct summer sunlight can scorch the leaves, so move it to partial shade in midsummer.
During the growing season, water once every 2 weeks to 1 month, giving enough when the soil is dry for water to run out of the bottom of the pot.
Poor ventilation or excess moisture can cause root rot and gray mold.
Pests and diseases include gray mold and scale insects.
[Notes]
It arose from an intergeneric cross between Sedum (Sedum) and Echeveria (Echeveria).
