Japanese name: イランイランノキ
Scientific name: Cananga odorata

[Overview]
An evergreen tree famous as a fragrance plant, reaching a height of 15 m.
The branch tips hang down.

The flowers grow in bundles from the leaf axils and hang down because they have long flower stalks.

As the flowers turn yellow they give off a strong fragrance, and they are the raw material for ylang-ylang oil.

The name ylang-ylang derives from Tagalog.
