Diplomorpha ganpi

[Overview]
A deciduous subshrub about 1 m tall, found in sunny places in hills and fields.
The branches, leaves and inflorescences are densely covered with appressed hairs.
It branches well from ground level, and the aboveground part either dies back in winter or overwinters as several tens of cm at ground level.
The leaves are simple and spirally alternate, oblong, 2–4.5 cm long and 1–2 cm wide, with entire margins.
There is a very short petiole.
Spikes gathered into a panicle form the inflorescence.
The flowers have no petals; the tubular calyx, 4-lobed at the tip, is colored white or pale pink.
The fruit is a drupe.
