About
Created by foreign residents in the 3rd year of the Meiji era, this is the first Western-style park in Japan and is a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty. It is the place where Himalayan cedars were first planted in Japan, and the site where tennis originated. A famous cherry blossom viewing spot, where in spring large cherry trees form a pink tunnel.
