About

The park is divided by Shin-Ohashi-dori Avenue into the South Garden, which has a Japanese garden with a pond and waterfall and a baseball field, and the North Garden, which has an open lawn and playground equipment. It opened in 1932 (Showa 7). Main plants include ginkgo, Yoshino cherry (Somei-Yoshino), dawn redwood (metasequoia), bald cypress, plane trees and tulips. In the Mini Kigura, which recreates the former timber pond, water lilies bloom from early summer to autumn.
