Zehneria japonica

[Overview]
An annual climber found near water and in open fields.
The leaves are simple and alternate, ovate-round, 3–6 cm long and 4–8 cm wide, thin in texture, with a rough upper surface.
The leaves are often shallowly 3-lobed.
There are male and female flowers, borne in racemes arising from the leaf axils, though they are sometimes solitary.
The flowers are white, 0.6–0.7 cm across, and the corolla is 5-lobed.
The stamens are attached to the upper part of the floral tube, and the filaments are shorter than the anthers.
The ovary is conspicuous beneath the female flower.
The fruit is a white berry, globose to ovoid, 1.3–2 cm in diameter.
