The basal leaves have petioles 3–14 cm long.
The stem bears 2–3 alternate leaves, which are ternately compound and 1.5–3 cm in both length and width.
The stem leaves have either no petiole or a short petiole that clasps the stem.
A cyme bears 3–5 flowers that bloom facing downward.
The flowers are about 0.5 cm across; the 5 petals are pale yellow and tubular, and the 5 petal-like sepals are white to pale pinkish red.
The petals have a very short spur.
The fruit is a follicle borne facing upward.
