Japanese name: スジヌマハリイ (筋沼針藺)
Scientific name: Eleocharis equisetiformis

[Overview]
A perennial 30–50 cm tall, growing in sandy wetlands.
It does not form clumps but grows in loose tufts.

There are 4 bristle-like perianth segments, though they are often not visible (0).
The achene is flat and lens-shaped, and the style base at the top is about 1/3 the length of the achene.
