Coniogramme intermedia ("Iwaganezenmai")

Japanese name: イワガネゼンマイ (岩が根銭巻、岩ヶ根薇)
Scientific name: Coniogramme intermedia

[Overview]
A large, evergreen terrestrial fern found in forests in the mountains.
It has a creeping rhizome.
The leaves are ovate-elliptic, 40–60 cm long, and divided pinnately once or twice.
The pinnae are somewhat thick and narrowly oblong-elliptic, abruptly narrowing at the tip into a tail-like extension, with fine serrations along the margin.
The veins are free and do not form a network, and their tips reach the serrations, or at least reach the base of the serrations.
The sporangia clusters extend long and linear along the leaf veins and have no indusium.
The leaf stalk is almost as long as the leaf, 20–50 cm long, pale straw-colored and hairless.
