Pandorea (genus)

Japanese name: パンドレア
Scientific name: Pandorea

Pandorea

[Overview]
An evergreen woody climber.
It climbs by twining around other plants.
The leaves are opposite and odd-pinnately compound.
Panicles at the branch tips bear white to pink, funnel-shaped bell-like flowers.
The fruit is a capsule.

[Cultivation]
Propagate by cuttings.
It is not particular about soil as long as the site is sunny and well drained.
It can overwinter outdoors in areas without frost, but potted plants should be moved indoors to a sunny place in winter.
Take care not to let the soil become too wet; for potted plants, from spring to autumn water thoroughly when the soil surface dries, and keep them on the dry side in winter.
For plants in the ground, rainfall is sufficient.
Apply fertilizer at planting, and from spring to autumn also apply fertilizer placed on the soil once a month, using slow-release fertilizer.
There are no particular pests or diseases.
