Triosteum pinnatifidum ("Hozakitsukinukiso")

Japanese name: ホザキツキヌキソウ (穂咲突抜草)
Scientific name: Triosteum pinnatifidum

A perennial growing in the mountains, reaching 30 cm tall.
The stems grow in clumps and are densely covered all over with long soft hairs, with short glandular hairs in the upper part.

The leaf bases are not fused with the opposite leaves.
The flowers are borne in erect spikes 2–5 cm long.
The corolla is bilaterally symmetrical, tubular-bell-shaped, about 1 cm long, 5-lobed and pale green, brownish on the inside.
The base of the corolla is swollen on one side.
There are 5 stamens.
The fruit is a spherical drupe about 8 mm across, ripening white, juicy and slightly sweet.
The fruit contains 3 ovate stones.
