Lonicera gracilipes var. glandulosa ("Miyamauguisukagura")

Japanese name: ミヤマウグイスカグラ (深山鶯神楽)
Scientific name: Lonicera gracilipes var. glandulosa

[Overview]
A deciduous shrub growing in mountains.
Glandular hairs are abundant all over the plant, especially on the young branches, leaf stalks, flower stalks and ovary.
The bark is grayish brown and splits lengthwise and peels off.
Young branches are solid with a white pith.
Leaves are simple and opposite, 3–8 cm long and 1.5–5 cm wide, broadly elliptic to obovate, with entire margins.
There are 4–5 pairs of lateral veins.
The flowers open before the leaves or at the same time as they unfold, and are borne 1–2 at a time, pointing downward, in the leaf axils at the branch tips, with 1–2 bracts at the base.
The flowers are pale pink, funnel-shaped, 1–2 cm long, and 5-lobed at the tip.
The fruit is an elliptic berry 1–1.5 cm across, ripening red; it is sweet and edible.
It resembles Uguisukagura and Yama-uguisukagura, but can be distinguished by the abundant glandular hairs all over the plant.
